After almost two decades in the outdoor industry, Caitlin and Doug founded Parallel 45 out of the belief that organizations can be more successful by focusing on more than just sales. Manufacturers and retail stores are more than their products. They are communities of people and businesses who come together around mutual interest, passion or purpose.

Doug is a passionate outdoorsman and loves all things winter. When he is not outside, you can find him tuned into a podcast. A native Minnesotan with the spirit of a nomad, Doug has spent almost two decades in the outdoor industry. From guiding to retail and finally wholesale, he has spent the last 10 years working with specialty retailers both in-house and on contract with major manufacturers. Doug has a passion for building meaningful relationships and connecting people. He is a leader and coach who elevates those around him, using their passion and strengths to their advantage. 


You will most often find Caitlin behind the camera at the perfect time or nestled between two trees in her hammock with a good book. Caitlin, a licensed social worker by trade, specializes in equipping organizations to unleash their human power. Always seeking out ways to keep learning and building on her Masters Degree, Caitlin remains more passionate than ever to empower those around her to join in advocacy for social justice and promote mental wellness. 



Sarah believes in the power of storytelling. She finds purpose in helping mission driven brands tell the world what they’re all about. With an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, Sarah understands business fundamentals. But as the former CEO of a successful food company, she also understands what motivates consumers. At Parallel 45, Sarah helps brands to share their mission, their passion and their voice. A former international guide, Sarah marries together a unique blend of traditional and progressive business experience. When she’s not working, Sarah can most often be found searching for the most rollicking gravel roads on her bike or teaching yoga to adults with developmental disabilities.
